The AP Calculus course is designed to prepare students for the AP Calculus Exam, but it also prepares students for a formal education after high school. Calculus AB is roughly equivalent to a first semester college course in calculus.  This course is structured around three big ideas - limits, derivatives, integrals - and relates them all by the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. You will learn to analyze data given tables, graphs and problem situations, and you will learn to interpret this data in a meaningful (and an acceptable) way. This course teaches logic skills, problem solving skills and best practices in displaying these skills. We have high expectations for our Calculus students, but our methods have have helped our students be successful on the AP Calculus Exam and in subsequent college-level classes.
