Mrs. Margaret "Peggy" Williams

Greetings!

Welcome to English II and English II Pre-AP! I am looking forward to serving as your English instructor this school year. As an English II student, you will continue on your journey as a critical reader, thinker, and writer.

Building upon the foundation that you received in English I course, it is my goal this year to further develop the knowledge, skills, and tools for reading critically, thinking abstractly, and writing well. I am truly excited to help my students explore new ideas, broaden knowledge and understanding about the people, places, ideas, and world around us, as well as help to develop individual style and voice as a writer.

As an inaugural staff member of Johnson High School, the 2018-2019 school year will mark my fourteenth year with NEISD, and eighteenth year teaching English and teaching students how to communicate effectively.  I am confident that my varied background and personal interest in preparing students for the college environment will prove once again to be an asset in preparing students for academic success.

On a personal note, this will be my fourth year without a child of my own actively participating in the advanced academic environment and community at Johnson.   My daughter (Class of 2012) and my son (Class of 2015) were both summa graduates who participated in athletics (tennis and football), orchestra, and leadership activities at Johnson; therefore, I have an understanding and special insight about what life is like as an active student in extracurricular activities at Johnson.  My daughter graduated magna cum laude from Texas A&M with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and is a project designer for SWA in downtown Houston. My son is a senior construction science major at Texas A&M (also on track for magna cum laude honors) and recently accepted a position as a project engineer for a firm specializing in design and construction.

Please feel free to visit with me on an individual basis for any personal academic needs or requests.  It is my desire to help all students achieve academic success.
