Mrs. Laurel J. Dixon

Mrs. Dixon began teaching in 1999 where she taught for nine years at the same high school in Central Texas, teaching English, Journalism and Photography concurrently with advising an award winning yearbook and newspaper.  Mrs. Dixon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Master of Arts in Secondary Education with a concentration in Gifted and Talented education, both from Texas State University. 

Additionally, Mrs. Dixon earned a Master of Divinity degree from Austin Seminary in 2011.  After earning her degree, she became an ordained minister and board certified chaplain where from 2011-2015 she worked as a professional chaplain for both hospitals and hospices.  She enjoys cooking and baking, volunteer work, movies, writing, reading, outdoor festivals, and photography.  She also loves to hang out with her sweet cat, Mabel.
