NEISD artists earn National Gold & Silver Keys

Join us in congratulating North East ISD’s National Scholastic Gold and Silver Key winners!

NEISD had four high school students place among the best in the country at the 2023 National Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition.

Ellie Rubio holds her Gold Key winning art

Johnson High School junior Ellie Rubio earned a National Gold Key for her incredible photography piece, MIMIC. Her art will be on display at Carnegie Hall in New York City in June. Her teacher is Bianca Pitman. Less than 1% of the entire competition earns this distinction.

Reagan High School senior Kenny Pollok, International School of the Americas (ISA) senior Amira Churchwell and ISA junior Allison Rauschuber earned National Silver Keys. Kenny’s teacher is Reagan’s Jennifer Bieniek. ISA’s Andrea Puentes teaches Amira and Allison.

Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards program has been judging student work based on three original criteria: originality, technical skill, and the emergence of personal vision or voice. Our student artists continue to uphold this tradition of excellence in art and writing #theNEISDway.

Congratulations to our talented students and their teachers!
