Tips for Success

Course Description: The student will develop and apply the target language skills in writing, speaking, listening, and reading through performance based activities. In addition, the study of the Spanish-speaking countries will enhance the appreciation of our culture with that of the Hispanic countries.

Objective: To provide linguistic and cultural similarities the English and Spanish language share in order to make it meaningful to the student; thus, creating opportunities for real-life learning experiences in the target language in a performance based environment.

                              

                                                                           Course Overview

The curriculum will again focus on the 5 C’s: Communication, Culture, Connections, Comparisons, and Communities. These foreign language standards will be met through a variety of speaking, reading, listening, and cultural activities. There will be time in class provided for the student to become familiar with the internet resources before a homework assignment is due. These assignments are vital in order to fulfill requirements for classroom discussions. We will begin all assignments in class and IF time is used wisely, the amount of homework should be MINIMAL.
