Sixto Elizondo is the Director of Orchestras at Ronald Reagan High School.  He is responsible for the leadership and development of six orchestras.  Under his leadership since 2010, the Reagan High School Orchestra has enjoyed excellent student retention and increased concert attendance from the community.  In addition, the Reagan High School Orchestra has won multiple awards and recognition in region, state, and national competitions.  Mr. Elizondo just finished his term as President of the Texas Orchestra Directors Association, advising on the growth of orchestra directors through annual sponsorship of new music reading sessions, clinics, workshops, and exhibits.  For 25years, he has been a member of the Corpus Christi Symphony and also works as a freelance violinist and vocalist in the San Antonio area.  Previously, Mr. Elizondo was the Orchestra Director at Robert E. Lee High School for eight years and was responsible for the guitar ensemble and development of the student orchestras.  He earned a Bachelor of Music Education, with a concentration in violin, from Baylor University where he was a member of the Baylor Orchestra Symphony.  Mr. Elizondo has professional affiliations with the Texas Orchestra Directors Association, Texas Music Education Association, and Texas Music Adjudicators Association. He is also a member of Mu Omicron, an honorary Orchestra Directors fraternity.
