About me:

I love teaching chemistry to teenagers!

I have two kids who are my world, Claire and Henry.  I grew up in Idaho, but I was born in Louisiana. Later, I moved to Oregon and attended the University of Oregon Honors College on a scholarship.  I enjoyed my 5 years there and earned degrees in biology, chemistry, and liberal arts. After Oregon, I moved to Iowa to practice meditation and live in a meditating community. After I gave birth to Claire, I moved to Texas to be near my brothers. 

When I was a little girl, I designed and conducted science experiments in my bedroom or in the back yard.  I love science because it is an ongoing search for truth.  Science has given me a framework for making sense of the natural world, and not a day goes by that I don't use my science education.  An education is a gift you give yourself.  I endeavor to help young people admire and understand the universe more than they did before.
