Kathryn Hill

Ever since I can remember, art has been a major part of my life. Having grown up in a family of artists and educators, much of my childhood was spent playing with paint, pastels, and colors. I have had the opportunity to train with professional artists and studied art history and drawing in Florence, Italy. I value the exploration, discovery, and problem-solving that comes with art experiences and look forward to having a classroom that your child finds rewarding. 

I earned my BFA in communication and design from Texas State University and teaching certification from UTSA. In my time as a student and professional, I have earned recognition in art and design competitions, including the Creative Summit and first place in the National Arts Program. After working as a professional designer, I made the choice to become an art educator out of my love for working with children through volunteer activities and desire to connect the arts to science, math, and writing.

Outside the classroom, my husband and daughter and I love playing video games and spending time on our family property in Mason. Our furry friend is a feisty rabbit, Cheeky Bun Bun, who loves bouncing around the house, soft pets, and grooming our hair. Besides teaching, I create, paint murals, and restore furniture in our home studio and am a mildly successful gardener.
