Celebrating MacArthur's 2024 Summa Cum Laude Students

North East ISD is proud to celebrate the Summa Cum Laude students at MacArthur High School. These ceremonies honor the incredible accomplishments of the dedicated students who are graduating from high school with grade point averages above 100. These young men and women mastered every academic test we placed before them and exceeded the highest standards, but they wouldn’t be here without the teachers who inspired them.

Hudson Bell is one of MacArthur’s exceptional Summa candidates. Tonight, he will honor Jason Sandoval.

“I have had Mr. Sandoval for three years, and in that time, he has taught me to think in three dimensions and how to listen to feedback and then improve, and he has shown me my future career. He is always there to help me improve and is always willing to tell me when my architectural plans need lots of improvement. I am extremely grateful for all he has done to help me toward my future.”

Taylor Navarro is honoring her coach, Tamara Torru.

“Coach Torru is more than a coach, she is a mentor and an inspiration. She has taught me that life is not always fair but that does not mean you get to quit. When life put a wall in my path, she instilled in me the confidence to run through it. In just three years, Coach Torru has made history by leading her players to a district championship, a testament to her unwavering dedication to her team. I have been fortunate to be a part of that team.”

Congratulations to the Class of 2024! MacArthur's Summa celebration will be held the evening of Tuesday, March 19.
