We offer all of our students a 360-degree educational experience while attending MacArthur High School. With over 50 clubs and organizations, students can explore and participate in enriching extra-curricular activities in addition to coursework to expand their opportunities. To maximize learning, students are encouraged to take an active approach in clubs and organizations.
Aquatics
MacArthur Aquatics is a competitive UIL 27-5A sanctioned program made up of two teams (Varsity & JV) who train year-round in the sport of Aquatics, which includes Swim/Dive, to compete against other schools during the sport season (September-February). JV/Varsity teams compete against San Antonio-area opponents, with the Varsity team vying for placement in state playoffs for a chance to win a state championship. Follow us on twitter @MacAquatics

ASL Honor Society
Based on national organization with opportunities for students to excel in ASL with service hour opportunities, emphasis on character, academics and leadership.

MacArthur Athletic Training Program
The MacArthur Athletic Training Program (MAT) provides injury prevention, treatment, rehabilitation programs, sporting event coverage, and athletic practice coverage to the student-athletes of MacArthur High School and to visiting teams when the need arises.

Band
The MacArthur Band Program is the most present representation for MacArthur High School through the entire school year. In the fall, students in the program participate as a part of the Big Blue Marching Machine - the MacArthur H.S. Marching Band. Students perform at each football game, as well as a number of contests including UIL. In the spring, the band program has numerous concert, jazz, percussion, and color guard ensembles that perform at concerts and events through the end of the year.

Baseball
MacArthur Baseball is a UIL 27-5A sanctioned program made up of two boys teams (Varsity & JV), who train year-round in the sport of Baseball, to compete against other schools during our sport season (January-May). Both levels compete in tournaments and pre-season games, leading into the regular season. Boys Track
Boys Track is a competitive UIL 27-5A sanctioned program made up of two teams: Varsity & JV; The Varsity teams are comprised of up to seven members, while the JV teams are made up of an unlimited number of runners. Athletes train year-round in the sport of Track & Field, comprised of 13 events, ranging from distance, horizontal jumps, vertical jumps, vaulting, sprints, hurdles, throws, and relays. The team competes against other San Antonio-area schools during our season, February-May.

Brahmadoras and Lassies (Mac Dance)
The NDA National Champion Brahmadora Varsity Dance Team is the feature dance group at MacArthur. They specialize in advanced level jazz, high kick, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, and pom routines. The team is made up of 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. The Brahmadoras perform at all Varsity football games as well as designated special events. The dance team attends mandatory practices, camps, clinics, competitions at the local & national levels, and community events.

Choir
The MacArthur Choir program consists of a diverse group of ensembles that perform a variety of vocal and choral literature. Whether you can sing or not, we can teach you in our beginning choir class - no audition necessary. Concert Chorale and Cantate are audition-based choirs that compete in UIL and TMEA contests. Creative Writing Club
The Creative Writing Club encourages writing and voice by meeting weekly to provide space for students to write and provide feedback. The club also conducts writing contests and host Open Mic Nights throughout the school year. The club helps create the Bullseye Literary and Art Magazine which showcases the best of MacArthur students' artwork, photography, poetry, and prose.

MAC Criminal Justice Club

Grupo Folklorico Magnifico MacArthur High School
Grupo Folklorico Magnífico studies Mexican Ballet Folklorico, Latin Dance and Flamenco. We are the only high school ballet Folklorico group in our district. We have brought home accolades and awards from our annual competitions including Festivals de Mexico and Bailes de Mi Tierra Competencia Folklorica. But in our hearts, we are all about our community and our culture. As our motto says, “¡A todo lo que hagas, ponle corazón!” Come to our next show, or better yet, come dance with us!! Established in 2007, we have proudly represented our school and our community at performances all over San Antonio including Fiesta, Muertosfest, Cinco de Mayo, Diez y Seis de Septiembre, World Language Tour, San Antonio River Walk and at our community elementary school seasonal festivals and more.

We host a biweekly skate session on campus open to any interested MacArthur students. Our intention is to maintain a friendly session where first timers can learn to roll for the first time, or rippers can get in an on campus session after school. MacArthur Theatre
We offer a full high school’s career worth of Theater Arts study and performance! Beginning with Theater I your freshman year and ending with Theater IV your senior year, the Mac Drama department will be there to support and nurture your talent and help guide you as you grow into the responsible member of the 21st Century that you are! In addition, we hold periodic auditions for our after school play rehearsals that culminates with live theatrical evening performances. After completing Theater I, you become eligible to sign up for a Technical Theater class where we learn and practice all the cool stuff that happens behind the scenes in a production such as stage lighting, costumes, makeup, sound design and set construction. NAWBO - HSMP
The NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) Foundation High School Mentorship Program is a 6-month program and experiential learning opportunity for junior and senior ladies in high school. Through our three conferences and in-school mentorship meetings, we empower students with leadership skills and life tools that will set them up for success in school and in life. The program culminates with an optional scholarship competition in which the teen girls create a business plan. At the end of the program, the business plans go through a thorough and blind judging process, after which the four top business plans are selected and the participant is awarded college/trade school scholarships.

P.A.L.S. (Peer Assistance Leadership, & Service)
PALS mentor elementary, middle school, and high school ALE students throughout the year. We also plan and participate in service projects in and around our MacArthur community. In order to become a MacArthur PAL (Junior and Senior year) you must apply (Starting in the spring), interview, and be accepted into the program. Bairns Pep Squad
"The Pep Squad is open to all 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders. There is no audition to be a member. Pep squad specializes in beginner to intermediate-level jazz, pom, hip-hop, military, and novelty routines. This team attends all Varsity football games and other designated athletic events. The pep squad performs at select football games and special events. They also attend mandatory practices, camps, clinics, competitions, and community events. Pep Squad is a commitment that will help students engage in school culture and community, and acquire lifelong skills. Pep Squad allows students to explore, display, and refine their performance talents, based on individual development. Our goal is to nurture students and encourage them to move forward and be part of the Drill, Dance, and Cheerleading. We also work on building teamwork techniques and school pride through participation in attending athletic events, pep rallies, and competitions.

The mission of the Unity Club at Mac is to elevate the campus climate by celebrating and supporting the diversity of students at our school.
