Ms. Kimberly Winter

This will be my first year at MacArthur High School and my 23rd year of teaching. I have 15 years of high school teaching and 7 years in middle school. My last three years were teaching in a middle school autism unit. I have taught English, reading, math, science, social studies, and various electives. Last year, I taught speech to my non verbal students. 

I graduated from Marshall High School in 1987. I earned my bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies in 1997 from the University of Texas at San Antonio and my masters in autism and severely emotional disturbances from Our Lady of the Lake University in 2008. I have my teaching certificate in special education, Secondary English and Reading, English as a Second Language, and Elementary Education. 

I have lived in San Antonio for most of my life. I am part of a blended family. I have 7 step and biological children, and 7 grandchildren. My only granddaughter is the oldest, she just turned 12. The boys are ages 10, 4, 3, 2, 1, and 1. My house is really quiet right now, with our youngest at college in Arlington. I have  also have a small zoo at my house with 3 cockatiels, 2 dogs, 1 cat, and 1 fish. I love to sew and bike ride. I love living near the Salado Greenway Trails and I ride my bicycle 20+ miles on the weekends.
