Mr. Chris Griscom
I have been a high school social studies teacher for twenty-two and a half years now. This is my tenth year in North East ISD and I am really excited to be part of the MacArthur team. I have previously taught at East Central High School from 2001-2013 here in San Antonio, Texas. I have been married to my wonderful wife for twenty-five happy years and we have three awesome kids. I have 1 child that is still in high school and will be a Sr this year and a member of the Randolph Ro-Hawk Varsity Football team, one child that graduated from high school in 2018 and graduated from Trinity University in the spring of 2022 and one child that graduated high school in 2020 and will begin his junior year at TLU where he is a high jumper and a javelin thrower on the track team. I believe that teaching is a "calling" and something that I was placed on earth to do and love to do. I truly enjoy the daily interactions with my students and look forward to helping each of them to achieve their full potential in learning and to become productive members of society. Everything can be taken away from us but our education stays with us always! I will be teaching United States Government and Politics, Advanced Placement Psychology and Sociology this year at Mac. I received my Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in History from Sam Houston State University in May of 1996. I earned my Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University in May of 2010. I also have earned my educational diagnostician certification from Lamar University in the Fall of 2021. As we navigate these interesting times, we are all in this together and we will do the best we can with what we have to get through this together! There will be bumps in the road and we will work through them and go around, over or through them! I look forward to welcoming my students back into the classroom for the 2022-23 school year! I look forward to working with each of you.
