Mrs. Sheila Lobert

This is my 15th year teaching, and my 10th year teaching high school English, and I am so happy my career has brought me here. Reagan is a phenomenal school populated by amazing learners who we, as teachers, are honored to serve and to whom we are dedicated to providing a superior education. I was proud to graduate Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2007, but that was nothing compared to the pride I feel when I see the successes of the students I have the privilege to teach and the ability and willingness of my fellow educators to rise to challenges and to be malleable yet resilient as the tides of our modern world continue to change.

I have always loved to learn and to share my acquired knowledge with others. I have been peer mentoring since I was in the 4th grade, and in addition to teaching, I have a been a private tutor and a Director of Education for Sylvan and worked in the "real world," mostly in the fields of sales and marketing. I believe that these experiences have allowed me to give meaningful insight to students about pursuing varied passions. I continue to learn and grow each year through a combination of professional development, personal study, and engaging conversations with other learners, and I'm enjoying the new insights and observations that come with seeing the world through the fresh eyes of my 5-year-old son. Some of my current personal projects including collaborating on mods for my long-time favorite computer game, the Sims (and learning some basic modding skills in the process) and writing a fiction book series.

In addition to video games and creative writing, I am a fan of roller coasters, travel, swimming, appreciating classic cars, and art.

If you are curious about the pronunciation of my name, regionally it is pronounced: low (like the grades none of us want) - bert (like the Muppet). If you prefer the original French pronunciation of Low-bear, that is perfectly fine, too. I will happily answer to either.
