Mrs. Sheila Lobert

This is my 17th year teaching and my 12th year teaching high school English. I am thrilled that my career has brought me to this point. Teaching English to emergent bilingual students who have been in the country for less than three years is incredibly rewarding. Reagan is a phenomenal school filled with amazing learners whom we, as teachers, are honored to serve and to whom we are dedicated to providing a superior education. I was proud to graduate Summa Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2007, but that was nothing compared to the pride I feel when I see the success of the students I have the privilege to teach. I am also inspired by the ability and willingness of my fellow educators to rise to challenges and remain resilient as the tides of our modern world continue to change.

I have always loved to learn and to share my acquired knowledge with others. I have been peer mentoring since I was in the 4th grade, and in addition to teaching, I have been a private tutor, a Director of Education for Sylvan, and worked in the "real world," mostly in the fields of sales and marketing. These experiences have allowed me to provide meaningful insights to students about pursuing varied passions. I continue to learn and grow each year through a combination of professional development, personal study, and engaging conversations with other learners. I also enjoy the new insights and observations that come with seeing the world through the fresh eyes of my 7-year-old son. Some of my current personal projects include collaborating on mods for my long-time favorite computer game, The Sims, and writing a fiction book series.

In addition to video games and creative writing, I am a fan of roller coasters, travel, swimming, appreciating classic cars, and art.

If you are curious about the pronunciation of my name, regionally it is pronounced: low (like the grades none of us want) - bert (like the Muppet). If you prefer the original French pronunciation of Low-bear, that is perfectly fine, too. I will happily answer to either.
