Welcome to Spanish II, Spanish II Honors, AP Spanish Literature and Culture and AP Spanish Language and Culture.
I was born and raised in Mexico. When I came to this country, I realized two important things: education opens the door to many opportunities, and speaking Spanish empowers people even more! Therefore, I decided to start working toward my bachelors degree in Education and Spanish from New Mexico State University https://www.nmsu.edu/. I also earned a master's degree in Spanish from the University of Texas at San Antonio https://www.utsa.edu/.
Like those who study a foreign language, I had to learn a second language: English. Learning a second language broadens your horizons, helps you to understand other cultures, and it even gives you a better knowledge of your native language.
I started teaching at Nimitz Middle School, where I piloted the Middle School AP Spanish Language program for NEISD. I helped a lot of students to gain high school and college credit, and the program is still going today.
Now, at Madison High School I teach the AP Spanish Language and Culture, AP Spanish Literature and Culture and the Dual Credit Spanish, Spanish II Honors and Spanish II courses.
I am looking forward to have an excellent 2022-23 school year!
