Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Mackenzie (Mack) Witzel
Hello 7th Graders,
I'm Mr. Witzel, and I am one of the 7th Grade Reading teachers for the 2020-21 school year.
I am very excited to be a new teacher at Jackson Middle School and I look foward to working with each of you!
Even though we are starting the year off in a virtual classroom, I can't wait to get to know each of you, and hope that one day soon, we will all be able to meet in the physical classroom. But until that day, let's stay positive and stay safe! With a positive attitude and an eagerness to learn, we will be able to make the best of the situation that we are currently facing.
I want to share a little information about me and my background as a teacher before the first day of school.
I grew up on the Eastern Colorado and Western Kansas state line on a small cattle ranch. Growing up, I was active in 4-H and the FFA (Future Farmers of America). I went to college at Kansas State University, where I majored in Agricultural Education. After I graduated, I moved to Oklahoma where I taught high school agriculture courses. I later moved back to Kansas, and taught agriculture for a second year. I had an opportunity to work with the Kansas Department of Agriculture before I moved to San Antonio in the Summer of 2019.
When school starts, I will share a little more information, and take the opportunity to learn more about you!
For now, take a look at my course syllabus and online classroom expectations. This will help prepare you for the start of school, and make the first day a little easier for you.
Until then, have fun with the last few days of summer, and get excited to start another year!
I can't wait to meet you all!
