B.S. in Geography - Texas State University
Ms. Jacquelyn Powell
I was born and raised in San Antonio. Except for college in San Marcos and a year in Frisco, I’ve spent most of my life here. I am product of NEISD. I attended Fox Run and Oak Meadow Elementary, Jackson Middle School, and Churchill High School where I was a member of the band.
After high school I attended Texas State University in San Marcos. After taking an introductory Geography course, I determined that I had always been a Geographer at heart. I constantly am observing the world around me, identifying patterns, and asking questions! I felt that I missed out in my high school geography education. This is what led me to become a teacher. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Geography with a Social Studies Composite (Minor in History, Third Field in Political Science).
I have taught many different social studies subjects including US History, PreAP World History, PreAP World Geography and AP Human Geography. This year I will be teaching United States History after 1877 and World Geography.
