I was born but not raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico to two amazing parents. With that being said, I was actually raised all around the world including places like Germany, England, and obviously the United States. This is because not shortly after I was born my dad joined the Airforce and my family began our journey traveling abroad from base to base. Finally in 1994 my family was assigned to Lackland Airforce Base here in San Antonio where we decided to never leave. Since we decided to never leave I was able to graduate from the best high school ever... James Madison High School. Yes you read that correctly... I also went to Madison where I graduated in 2004 and then went on to receive my Bachelor's Degree from Texas State University in San Marcos.
After receiving my degree in education, I came back to San Antonio and got hired as a teacher here at Madison in 2009. This means that this year is the beginning of my 16th year teaching and my 16th year at Madison. During these 15 years I have had the pleasure of dabbling my feet in several different content areas before finally settling down and teaching Biology Honors. I started out my first two years as a special education teacher/case manager for students with autism. From there I was moved into the Biology classroom as a special education coteacher where I spent my next four years teaching. Then finally I was moved from the special education coteach roll in a Biology class to the general education roll and I have been there ever since.
Lastly, during all of this time going to school and teaching, I also found the time to marry my high school sweetheart and love of my life in 2012. A few years after getting married we decided to start a family of our own and welcomed our beautiful baby girl into this world in 2017 and our baby boy this past January. When I am not on campus or at school events, I do enjoy spending time with my husband , daughter, and son doing things like swimming, fishing and hunting. Lastly, if I am not with my family I am probably spending time in the gym lifting, crossfitting or running.
