Lisa R. Alanis
This is my sixteenth year at Theodore Roosevelt High School! I teach the AP Spanish Language and Culture and also the Spanish II HONORS course. I love my job and I work hard for my students!
I was born and raised in Waterloo, Iowa. I graduated with a B.A. in Spanish from Cornell College in 1984 and a M.A. in Spanish/EnglishTranslation and Interpretation from the University of Northern Iowa in 1987. I lived in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico (South of Mexico City) for ten years before moving to San Antonio, Texas. I love South Texas and its diversity and am proud to call San Antonio my home.
I am a single mother of three grown children, two of which are graduated Longhorns! My baby is 22 years old and studies criminology in NYC. All three of my children are bilingual and bicultural.
I love to read, swim ,exercise, travel and enjoy really good food! If I am not working, I am spending time with family and friends.
In 2016 I completed coursework through Angelo State University to obtain Principal Certification in Texas and plan to pursue a career in Administration in the near future.
