My name is Mrs. Stigger (pronounced St-ig-ger).  I'm one of Roosevelt’s 11th grade English Language Arts Teachers.  I earned my MEd from Texas State University.  I enjoy reading popular fiction and poetry, and I encourage my students to challenge themselves by reading a variety of literature. 
In 11th grade, you can expect to become a more proficient reader -- reading with purpose and citing evidence in your writing. Throughout the year students will practice close-reading strategies and comprehension skills. Additionally, students will write about a variety of topics in many different formats. Teaching literature and writing allows me to share my love of reading. I hope that my passion for the subject as well as my training as an educator will help to open the minds and doors of opportunity for students. It is my hope that students will be positively influenced by what I have to offer.
