Mr. Brock Stewart

Hello, my name is Mr. Stewart. I am the AVID elective teacher and coordinator here at Roosevelt. It will be my eighth year of teaching, and I am proud to say I have been teaching at Roosevelt the entire time. Here is a little backgound information, I am originally from Canada; however, I have lived in San Antonio, Texas, for more than half my life. I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.A. in History, and Teacher Certification, I completed my M.Ed in Administration at Lamar University. It brings me great pleasure to continue teaching the AVID elective. As we move throughout the year, students will continue to forge a relationship with their peers and me as they advance in their academic journey.

My job, as I see it, is to inspire you, encourage you, and motivate you through the use of the components of the AVID curriculum. Considering that colleges and job markets are highly competitive, my mission is to enable you to have the necessary goals and tools in place to go beyond high school to succeed in college and become the absolute best you can be, someone who rises to the top and makes a difference in the field you choose. Dream, believe, achieve... together, let’s enjoy the journey!
