Mr. Joshua Duggan
Hello! My name is Joshua Duggan. I teach English Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) at Roosevelt High School, and I’m excited to be at NEISD.
I have a B.S. in Radio-TV-Film Production from the University of Texas at Austin, and am currently earning my alternative teaching certification through Texas Teachers of Tomorrow.
My educational journey began when I moved back to San Antonio and began substitute teaching, which turned into a long-term substitute co-teacher position at Kitty Hawk Middle School where I decided I wanted to pivot my career into teaching. I taught ESL and Reading under the DOI (District of Innovation) grant for a full year at Veterans Memorial High School, and am excited to complete my internship year at Roosevelt High School.
I believe the English language arts are fundamental for all education, and I have a passion for unlocking the love of writing and reading in my students so they have the tools and opportunities to express themselves and be empowered to tell their own stories and achieve their goals.
Outside the classroom, I am dedicated to bettering my body, mind and soul through yoga practices, training my dogs, creative writing, and I can’t forget making music and videos.
I can’t wait to share my love of learning with your students at Roosevelt!
