Ms. Deserie Rangel

I am entering my 12th year as an educator. After I graduated from high school, I attended San Antonio College and obtained my Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. I then entered the workforce. I worked for almost 15 years as an administrative manager for Hertz Corporation and Methodist Healthcare. While I was working, I continued my education and graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a BA in Administration. 

In addition to my teaching duties, I am the proud parent of an amazing young lady who recently graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word. When my daughter was in 4th grade, it was determined that she had a health impairment that affected her learning. She qualified for special education services, which allowed her to progress in her education. She inspired me to become an educator. My experiences as a parent of an exceptional learner are what led me to seek a position as a special education teacher.

This is my 9th year at Roosevelt High School and my 7th year co-teaching English with Mrs. Emily Garcia.  I am thrilled to work with such an amazing partner and a wonderful team.
