Ms. Deserie Rangel

I am entering my 8th year as an educator. After I graduated from high school I attended San Antonio College and obtained my Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. I then entered the workforce. I worked for almost 15 years as an administrative manager for Hertz Corporation and Methodist Healthcare. While I was working I continued my education and graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a BA in Administration. 

In addition to my teaching duties, I am the proud parent of an amazing young lady, who is a freshman at the University of the Incarnate Word. When my daughter was in 4th grade it was determined that she had a health impairment that affected her learning. She qualified for special education services which allowed her to progress in her education, she inspired me to become an educator. My experiences as a parent of an exceptional learner is what led me to seek a position as a special education teacher.

This is my 5th year at Roosevelt High School and my 3rd year co-teaching English I with Mrs. Emily Garcia.  I am thrilled to work with such an amazing partner and a wonderful team.
