I am pleased and honored to teach at the Engineering & Technologies Academy @ Roosevelt High School. I began teaching at Roosevelt in 1999 when ETA did not exist at Roosevelt. Mr. Sturgis hired me to teach Tech Systems, a career based class. Mr. Sturgis, Mr. B and myself experienced a lot of great opportunities for our students. Soon with the help of NEISD, The Career & Technology Education Department , Dr. Richard Howe and Mr. Sturgis, ETA was established and developed into our ETA program. This year will be my 22nd year and I am blessed to have taught many wonderful students. It was always my dream to become a teacher and my experience here at ETA has been exciting, motivating and challenging.
I graduated from Texas A&M University at College Station in ’79 where I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Education which is now known as Industrial Engineering. I also received my Fine Arts certification which gives me the opportunity to teach digital art. I have raised two sons and 1 daughter all graduates of Texas A&M. My husband of 42 years is also an Aggie. My favorite pastimes are gardening with my husband, walking, photography, baking and decorating. We have two sons and one daughter all grown. My husband and I enjoy traveling and visiting my grandson in Rockwall, Texas and my granddaughters who live in Bosnia.
This year I will be teaching Graphic Design & Illustration, Commercial Photography and Digital Media for this year.
I am the main sponsor for the Technology Student Association http://www.texastsa.org/ , http://www.tsaweb.org/ , Relay for Life (American Cancer Society) http://www.relayforlife.be/ assistant to the CyberSecurity
I hope to continue teaching and nurturing our students. I learn something new from my students each and every day and I truly enjoy it. I absolutely love our kids and the ETA family. “Unleash Your Genius”
