Mrs. Grizelda Gentry

I am pleased to teach at the Design and Technology Academy @ Roosevelt High School. I began teaching at Roosevelt in 1999. This year will be my 25th year and I am blessed to have taught many wonderful students. It was always my dream to become a teacher and my experience here has been exciting, motivating and challenging.

I graduated from Texas A&M University at College Station in ’79 where I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Education. I also received my Fine Arts certificate, which gives me the opportunity to teach digital art. I have raised two sons and 1 daughter, all graduates of Texas A&M. My husband of 44 years is also an Aggie. My favorite pastimes are gardening with my husband, walking, photography, baking and traveling. My husband and I enjoy traveling and visiting my grandson in Rockwall, Texas and plan on visiting my daughter's daughter's children in Bosnia one of these days. My son James and his wife are local and just had a beautiful baby girl. This year I am teaching Graphic Design & Illustration I and II, Commercial Photography and Digital Media and Digital Art & Media II and III. My students compete in various contests, such as VASE, TSA, Reflections, Picture Your World, Scholastic and many more. I truly believe that this will help them become well rounded and ready for their future.

I am the main sponsor for the Technology Student Association http://www.texastsa.org/ , http://www.tsaweb.org/  and Co-Sponsor of the CyberPatriot Team.  I hope to continue teaching and nurturing our students. This is my first year with DATA and I hope to make it a great year.
