Dr. Veyran

My name is Eddie Veyran, and this is my 12th school year in education and my first in NEISD. 

I'm an NEISD product where I attended Hidden Forest Elementary, Eisenhower MS, Bush MS, and graduated in 2004 from Reagan HS.

After I graduated from high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where I served for six years. I was first stationed at NAS Pensacola, FL where I was a water survival instructor at the Naval Survival Training Institute (NSTI) and worked at the "helo dunker." In my second command, I was assigned to run the Paraloft onboard the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD-6), which was moored at Naval Base San Diego, CA. 

During my time on active duty, I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Aeronautics. This gave me some options in my career, so I decided to pause my Naval career and attend graduate school at TXST. During my time in San Marcos, I was a graduate assistant football coach working with the offensive line. This is where my love and passion for the coaching profession came about. I earned my Master's Degree in 2012 and decided to come home to San Antonio and pursue a career as a high school football coach.

In December 2024, I earned my Doctor of Education from The University of Houston. My doctoral thesis is on the perceptions of coaches teaching character education to student-athletes. If you ever have trouble going to sleep at night, I suggest you read it.
