I grew up in Chicago, Illinois and went to a small college in nearby Naperville where I majored in physical education and minored in secondary education.  I taught for one year in Bolingbrook, Illinois as a middle school PE teacher as well as the 6th and 7th grade girls' volleyball team coach.  My husband and I married that summer and moved to the beautiful city of San Antonio!  I received my teaching certificate in special education and taught my first two years here in North East at West Avenue Elementary as the A.L.E. teacher.  I am now in my 18th year as an Adapted P.E. Specialist and Special Olympics coach, and I'm very excited! My son is entering 12th grade, and my daughter is entering 9th grade. I'm looking forward to an amazing year!
