Ms. Gibson
Hey, y'all! This will be my 11th year at Winston Churchill HS. This year, I will be teaching AP/DC English IV and OnRamps Rhetoric.
Before coming to Churchill, I earned my MA in English from The University of Texas at Tyler, where I studied Medieval European literature, Victorian literature, Shakespeare, American Literature, literary criticism, and rhetoric & comp. My thesis focused on the works of Toni Morrison. Before that, I earned my BA in English with a minor in Education from The University of Texas at Austin.
While at UT, I was a part of the Longhorn Band Silks, and I even got the chance to participate in a study abroad program one summer in Oxford at Brasenose College, focusing on the works of Virginia Woolf and Jane Austen. We also saw a few of Shakespeare's plays in Stratford-upon-Avon - Shakespeare's hometown - and in London at the Globe Theater.
My husband, Matt, and our sons, Alexander (Xander) and William (Liam), are the lights of my life, my sun and stars, and students may be hard-pressed to find me after 4:45 as I will most likely be sprinting out of here in order to pick them up from their after-school program.
