We would like all of our students to enjoy the 360-degree experience while attending Churchill. We do this by providing a welcoming atmosphere where students can explore and participate in meaningful enriching extra-curricular activities in addition to challenging coursework.
With well over 60 clubs and organizations, Churchill offers students and their parents many opportunities to enjoy our community and its diverse interests.
ACE CLUB
The purpose of this club is to give the students enrolled in engineering the opportunity to draw and construct projects after school. To be eligible for membership, candidates must be enrolled in the engineering class at Churchill High School. They must have gone through a safety demonstration of tools and machines and passed all the necessary safety tests. An advanced journalism class, the Chancellor staff is responsible for documenting the school year. CHEER
Competitive Cheer teams who compete at the national level. They attend Freshman, JV and Varsity football games, as well as some volleyball, basketball, baseball and soccer. Tryouts are in the spring each year. The cheer program consists of three teams, Freshman squad (open to only 9th graders), Junior Varsity (open to 10th – 12th graders), and Varsity (open to 10th – 12th graders).

FISHING CLUB
In the past and moving forward, we use dues/donations/contributions to fund some of the following trips/programs which include but not limited to Morgan’s Wonderland, ALE Program (special needs students), Charger Fight for Life Fund (helps people in our community for their medical financial needs), Nursing Home Visitation and Ronald McDonald House. GSA
The gay-straight alliance (GSA) club is a student-led organization that is intended to provide a safe and supportive environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth as well as their cisgender heterosexual allies. These youth leaders advocate for safer schools and healthier communities. Studies show that GSA’s have a positive academic, health, and social impact on students of a minority sexual orientation and/or gender identity. GSA’s are overseen by a responsible teacher.

JROTC – CORPS OF CADETS
JROTC is a leadership building program designed to make cadets better citizens. The Churchill JROTC battalion was established in 1968 and since then has included thousands of cadets with the aim of challenging them physically and mentally, teaching them military traditions, and instilling patriotism in all of them. We have many teams and opportunities for community service, and we always welcome new cadets!

ORCHESTRA
The Churchill Orchestra is an award-winning performance group. The orchestra is 200 members strong and consists of seven performance groups. In past years the orchestra has won numerous Sweepstakes and Outstanding Performance awards at U.I.L. Concert and Sightreading. Every year the orchestra performs Tschaikowsky’s Peter and the Wolf for local elementary school students as well as special performances for Title One elementary schools in the Texas Hill Country. UIL READY WRITING
Ready writing involves students writing expository essays in response to a prompt that deals with pertinent social issues, philosophy, history, and the human condition. WINNER’S CIRCLE
The purpose of the Winners Circle at Churchill High School is to identify, support, and reward students who are willing to commit to a chemical-free lifestyle. The Winners Circle promotes positive decisions in all aspects of a student’s life but emphasizes particularly the prevention and intervention of drug use. Through education and role modeling to peers as well as to younger students at other schools in the Churchill cluster, the Winners Circle promotes and endorses chemical-free choices.
