Ms. Caballero

Welcome!

If you're on this page, that means I am your teacher for English II, English II Honors, or AP Language and Composition. I look forward to a spectacular year of learning with you!

Last school year, I had the honor of being chosen as a member of the inaugural class of National Book Foundation Teacher Fellows. An initiative launched by the National Book Foundation, the purpose of the fellowship was to provide teachers with a grant to use for classroom projects geared towards getting students to read for fun. (You can read about it more here.) Through this fellowship, my students read a combined total of 643 books last year! We intend to keep pushing all students to read for fun, so expect your students to read a lot while in my class.

My goal as an educator is to help students make new connections with one another, challenge conventions, and engage in learning enthusiastically. I aim to create and foster a learning environment that encourages a kind of spirited playfulness in the classroom. I think that students should be given a chance to make mistakes, express themselves, and be a little silly every now and then. Not every lesson can be fun and games, but every class period can be positive and welcoming.
