The above instrument is an example of a student model instrument. This instrument is designed for elementary and early middle school students. Because it is machine made it is very durable and heavy. This model is perfect for the 5th grade strings environment while the students are learning. Because of its weight and durability they often do not have the characteristic tone quality of a string instrument. The bridges are too high making it difficult to play in the upper positions of the finger board. While ideal for a beginning student this model limits the ability and progress of a high school student.

PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE FROM ONLINE OR LARGE DEPARTMENT TYPE STORES. VIOLIN SHOPS WILL RETAIN THE QUALITY OF THEIR INSTRUMENTS.

The above instrument is an example of a hand made step up instrument. This instrument is meant for students outside of the beginning classroom learning more advanced skills. Because it is hand made it is light weight and delicate. These instruments cannot be mishandled. A properly adjusted step up violin will make shifting, vibrato and advanced techniques more easily assessed by your students. These instruments are made with a better finish and higher quality of wood. With higher quality production these instruments will outperform lesser quality instruments in concerts and competitions.
