Remarkable students recognized at June board meeting

Invocation & Pledge of Allegiance

Two remarkable students from the Academy of Creative Education (ACE) gave the invocation and pledge of allegiance at the regular meeting of the North East ISD Board of Trustees on Monday, June 12.

Josue Morales and Isabel Fonseca gave the invocation and pledge to the U.S. and Texas flags for all those in attendance.

Josue is enrolled in our Institute of CyberSecurity & Innovation (iCSI). He plans to earn his high school diploma and pursue a career in cybersecurity. Josue will be accompanied at the meeting by his parents, Alejandra and Moses.

Isabel plans to earn her high school diploma, move to Hawaii and enter the work force. She was joined by her parents, Julia and Marti Fonseca.  

6A State Track & Field Medalists Honored

Reagan Track and Field medalists 2023

Three student athletes from Reagan High School were recognized for their performances at the UIL 6A Track & Field State Meet. 

MacKenzie Dagrosa finished 3rd overall in High Jump. Isabella Dagrosa is a silver medalist in the 300-meter Hurdles. And Samuel Abati finished 2nd overall in Pole Vault. 

Congratulations to MacKenzie, Isabella, Samuel and their coaches – Dennis Remmers and Jennifer McHugh!

JROTC cadets from Reagan and Churchill High School were honored for their recent national championships! 

Churchill High School Queen's Guard 2023

In May, the Churchill Queen’s Guard Unarmed Drill Team performed at the All-Service Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida, where they won the 2023 All-Service Nationals Division 2 Unarmed Drill Team National Championship. They placed 1st in Inspection, 2nd in Color Guard, 4th in Regulation and 7th in Exhibition Drill. With those scores combined, they claimed a Division 2 national championship!  

Reagan Diamondback Drill team 2023

The Reagan Diamondback Unarmed Drill Team are the new national champions! They also competed in Daytona Beach, Florida, in May. They placed 1st in Regulation Drill, 1st in Color Guard, and 1st overall. 

Congratulations, cadets!  

NEISD passes largest raise in more than 20 years

Last night, the North East ISD Board of Trustees approved the largest salary increase for staff in more than 20 years. The nearly $35 million compensation package includes a one-time retention supplement and will impact all eligible employees. More than half will benefit teachers, counselors, librarians and nurses.
