Mike Silva
I am a proud graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso(UTEP), with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Minor in CreativeWriting.
I have been teaching English Language Arts and Reading at all levels in the high school setting since 2007. Parralel with my love of the written text, I have a background in History which gives me a distinct understanding of the social and cultural context of every literary genre I teach. I also have vast experience in the classes of Humanities and Creative Writing.
I am entering my third year as Head Tennis Coach at Roosevelt High School. I have been active in tennis since 1986. I have been coaching tennis at the high school level since 2012. I am also an active member/player of the United States Tennis Association and the Texas Tennis Coaches Association.
I am dedicated to providing Roosevelt High School tennis athletes with a competitive and fun program. I seek to develop well balanced players solid in fundamentals as well as having a strong grasp of the mental complexities of match play in tennis.I strive to provide excellent instruction and promote teamwork to achieve individual goals. Small groups and personalized instruction will be the cornerstone to our success.
In 2014, my family moved to San Antonio, and I have had the privilege of being part of the Rough Rider family. Going forward, Iwill continue to promote and represent the exemplary tradition of excellence of Theodore Roosevelt High School.
