Ms. Daphne De La Fuente

Hello! My name is Daphne De La Fuente. I was always addicted to reading and writing growing up. In my last year of high school, I met a fantastic teacher who encouraged me to pursue teaching English as a career. After I graduated from James Madison High School, I obtained my bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University. I was the first person in my family to go to college and this will be my first year teaching.

I love being able to change students' lives as much as possible. I believe that there is immense power in understanding language and communication. My goal as an educator is to help students feel successful and confident, knowing much more about the world than they did before. Mistakes happen, but students should learn that mistakes create better and more refined versions of an idea. Growing and learning will go hand-in-hand, so I hope everyone feels as though they have learned something after leaving this class.
