Greetings! My name is Marie Danysh, and I am an English teacher at Roosevelt. I grew up in Houston, then moved to San Marcos for college. I graduated from Texas State University in 2002, where I obtained my degree in Sociology.

After college, I worked as a Residential Advisor, Career Counselor, and College Coordinator at Gary Job Corps in San Marcos. I worked at Job Corps for 9 and 1/2 years. In 2013, I made the transition to public education with an emphasis on English Language Arts and Reading and Special Education. 

I am married, have 2 children, and a silly dog. I love reading and writing, and I love to sing and dance. Teaching has been my favorite career to date. I love watching students figure out just what they are capable of and seeing them succeed.
