Mrs. Gonzalez McKinney
Welcome, students! My name is Sandra Gonzalez McKinney, and I’m excited to begin my 11th year as an art instructor. I was born and raised in Tamaulipas, Mexico, and moved to Laredo, Texas, in 2000. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of participating in numerous art exhibits across the United States. In 2013, I earned my Master of Fine Arts degree from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.
My journey as an artist has led me to work as a muralist on various public art projects throughout Texas. I’ve also served as an art educator for six years in Laredo and Corpus Christi, and this marks my fifth year at Roosevelt High School in San Antonio. My specialties include public art, mural consulting, painting, drawing, and printmaking.
I’m deeply passionate about helping the community through art, and I look forward to sharing this passion with you throughout the course.
