My name is Alejandro Rosas, and I am in my 14th year teaching at Roosevelt HS. I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX graduating from W.B. Ray in 1997. I then went to College Station, TX attending Texas A&M graduating in 2002 with a Bachelors in Applied Mathematics. Immediately following graduation, I attended The Art Institute of Houston where I achieved an Associates in Graphic Design in 2004.
I was a professional Graphic Designer for 8 years before deciding to teach in 2013. Prior to becoming an Art teacher in 2019, I taught Geometry for six years. Since COVID, I have been assisting our campus incorporaing SEL into both Algebra-1 and Geoemetry using Art.
I am an artist at heart, but I have an affinity with mathematics, specifically geometry, and how it applies to everyone and everything. Math and art are both very visual subjects, and I try and incorporate as much creativity as I can in my classes. This year, I will be back to teaching Art full-time.
I absolutely look forward to the 2025-26 school year and the success that your artist/scholar will achieve.
