Mrs. Susan Mann
My English teaching career began in 1996. Since then, I've taught English core and elective classes to grades 9-12 as well as college composition and literature courses. I have taught in San Antonio public high schools, at an American international school in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and at the University of the Incarnate Word. I am currently an adjunct faculty member at San Antonio College - NEISD's link to the Dual Credit program. Wherever I am, I enjoy teaching literature and writing, but I especially love teaching at Churchill. Go Chargers!
My husband also teaches in NEISD, and both of our kids attend schools in NEISD. We believe in the power of public schools and feel fortunate to work with such amazing students and families, colleagues and administrators every day.
Most of the time you'll find me in room C 108 getting ready for classes or working with the UIL literary criticism and ready writing teams. Any students who love to read and learn about literary theory, or students that enjoy writing and sharing what they know about big philosophical questions related to today's society should consider working with our team.
I tutor students almost every day before and after school, but my official tutoring hours are Tuesdays at 8 AM and at 4:15 PM. I check work email often from home and welcome any questions students or parents have about the course. You may contact me at email@example.com.
I hope that no matter what my students' life and career goals may be, they gain a sense of empowerment with words and language and that students grow to appreciate the impact they have in our world.
