Bachelor of Arts in English from The University of Texas at San Antonio

Mrs. Wyndi Charlton

I'm a native of San Antonio, an alum of NEISD, and The University of Texas at San Antonio c/o 1995. Go, Roadrunners!

Now entering my 26th year in education, I am a proud Junior AP & GT English teacher and co-sponsor of Parliament at Churchill High School, my "dream job" without a doubt. I began my career in the Comal school district as a middle school English teacher and cheer coach. After four years, I joined NEISD at Ed White Middle school. Later, I made the leap to high school, teaching at Madison High School, my alma mater, before moving to El Paso, Texas where I taught at Franklin High School. My husband's job took us to Las Vegas, Nevada for a short time before we found our way back to happily settle and raise our family in our hometown. In 2011, I was fortunate enough to become a member of the "Charger Nation" and this is where I've been since.

I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Craig, for 32 years and we have two boys, Logan and Dylan. We also have one furry child, Charli, a spoiled, but too cute, French bulldog. Ask anyone, she's the real Queen of our kingdom.  In addition to spending time with my family, I love watching football, cooking, decorating, repurposing furniture, and reading. Our house gets pretty rowdy during football season. We all love to watch college football, but when NFL season comes around the Patriots are my team. (Cue the heckling) I'm also a big baseball fan, and I'll let you guess my favorite team (HINT: they DON'T wear pinstripes).

When I'm not with my family, I consider Churchill my home away from home. My main goal is that my students feel the same about our classroom. I intend to create an environment with higher level thinking and learning that fosters confidence in and respect for each person who walks through the door. Through my guidance, I hope to encourage students to reach their full potential and become successful in all their endeavors.
