Mr. Kevin J. Kile
I grew up in the idyllic Wyoming Valley of northeastern Pennsylvania. A native of Kingston (near Scranton), I am the youngest of seven children. I have been teaching Latin, ancient Greek, classical literature, and ancient history (along with a few other things) for 32 years. I earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and classical languages from the University of Scranton, an MA in classical languages and ancient history from the University of Toledo, and completed doctoral studies in Classics at the University of Missouri. I have taught at universities in Ohio, Missouri, and Illinois, as well as high schools in Atlanta, Chicago, Nashville, and San Antonio. My daughter, Eileen, is a graduate of the University of Dallas and lives in California. When I am not reading Latin or ancient Greek, I enjoy the outdoors, hiking, and watching old TV shows. I am an avid trivia buff and love to read and learn about every topic under the sky (except sports - I know almost nothing about sports). I am pleased to be able to bring my knowledge and love of the classical world to Churchill High School!
