Dr. Colleen D. Lindsey

I have been teaching for about 30 years; including elementary, gifted, English, reading and a science class once. Most of that has been in NEISD, though I spent nearly a decade in New Orleans (Hurricane Katrina brought us back home to SA).  I have spent about twenty-five years teaching middle school students and gifted students. North East ISD is my alma mater (El Dorado, Wood & Madison) and I am pleased and honored to be a Bradley Bear; I have been here about 20 years.

My family supports me and is so important to me as a teacher. I have been married for 25+ years and we have three amazing (almost grown) kids. I also manage a dog who thinks she is a princess and a cat who thinks he is a dog. A neighborhood cat developed "a crush" on my dog during COVID and began living on our front porch. We named him Salem. He tries to snuggle with her and follows us on our walks through the neighborhood, nuzzling the dog everytime she stops to smell. While Salem is not officially ours, he has become part of our extended family. We also adopted kittens last year (sisters from the same litter). They have been full of mischief, but their cuddling makes up for all the messes.

I love reading, writing, walking, traveling, games (dominoes, card and board games, and puzzles), movies & TV shows and bluebonnets.

I LOVE teaching students who have been identified as GT - moving them to stretch and grow, challenging them to question and thrive is exciting for me. I strive to create a unique academic experience for each student, providing excellent instruction with diverse methods and assessments. My classroom is an evolving place of learning. My students and I grow and learn together.

I also teach Newspaper Journalism. The students in that class write, edit, and produce the monthly Bradley Growl electronic newspaper. I love my job, and it's going to be a GREAT year!
