Mr. John Greenacre

I was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois where I graduated from Peoria Central High School (Class of '94!).  I followed high school by earning my associates degree from Illinois Central College.  In 1998, after transferring to Illinois State University and majoring in Political Science, I graduated with my first bachelors degree.  Around 2007, I went back to school to become a teacher.  I again graduated from Illinois State University in 2009, this time with a bachelors degree in Middle Level Education.

So how did I end up in Texas?  I was fortunate enough to student teach in San Antonio during the fall 2009 semester.  I loved it so much that I decided to permanently move to the city after graduation.  I do not miss the snow!  For seven years, I worked for another district, before joining North East ISD in 2017.  I have taught 6th and 7th grade math, 8th grade AVID, 6th grade science, and also coached girls' volleyball, basketball, and track & field.  Plus, I founded a very successful and popular comic book club (which I started at Tex Hill last year).

I am looking forward to the upcoming school year.  I will be teaching 8th grade math and coaching 7th grade boys basketball and track & field.  I will use my professional knowledge and years of experience to establish an innovative and safe learning environment for all students.  Please feel free to email and/or call me should you have any questions or concerns.

Let's have a great year!
