Adam Chitta

Mr. Chitta graduated from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas, in May 2010. This is now his ninth year teaching in the public schools and could not be more blessed to be back with the outstanding fine arts team at Wood Middle School!

Mr. Chitta serves as an active instructor in the pagentry performing arts (which includes marching band, winter guard, indoor drumline, and drum and bugle corps).  For five years, he performed with the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps based out of Madison, Wisconsin. This included traveling across the country playing in numerous venues and performing for hundreds of thousands of people. Following his ageout season (cannot participate after you reach the age of 21), he served as a visual instructor at Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corps when it was based out of Jacksonville, Alabama (2009), and is continuing into his third season with the Glassmen Drum & Bugle Corps based out of Toledo, Ohio (2011-2012). Mr. Chitta was also involved with the independent percussion ensemble called Imperial Percussion Theater, based out of Houston, Texas, for six years. Within the organization, Mr. Chitta has served in the role of cymbal player (2009), visual instructor (2009-2012), and continued that role along with being the Executive Assistant Director until 2014.

In his free time, Mr. Chitta serves as an adjudicator and clinician in the performing arts, and strives for every opportunity to do so whenever needed. He loves traveling, and recently toured Europe for three weeks in 2010. Definitely an experience to remember for a lifetime and to do again. Mr. Chitta and his wife went to England for their honeymoon and fell in LOVE with London and their surrounding areas.

Mr. Chitta's professional affiliations include Knights of Columbus, Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity, Drum Corps International, Winter Guard International, Texas Color Guard Circuit, Texas Music Educators Association, and Texas Bandmasters Association.

He currently resides in New Braunfels, Texas, with his wife and his dogs.
