Jeff Jensen

My name is Jeff Jensen and I am a 7th and 8th grade Social Studies teacher.  This is my first year teaching and I am INCREDIBLY excited to begin my second career as a teacher here at Wood Middle School.  In addition to my academic classes, I will coach football and soccer for the Wranglers.

In 2022 I retired from a 35-year career as an executive in the financial services industry, the last 22 years in San Antonio at USAA.  I have deep experience as an NEISD parent, as my three Sons spent their entire primary and secondary schooling in the district before graduating from Churchill High School.  I also have nearly 15 years of youth coaching experience for multiple sports at various levels.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Economics with a minor in History from the University of California, Berkeley and have a passion for continuously learning.  In the corporate world, I was acknowledged as a servant leader, adjusting my management techniques to meet the specific needs of each of my employees.  I plan to approach my new career in much the same way, nurturing the intellectual growth of my students while fostering a positive and challenging learning environment.
