I have received the Texas PTA, Congress of Parents and Teachers Honorary Life Membership Award for outstanding service to children and youth. 

The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International named me as a PAUL HARRIS FELLOW in appreciation of tangible and significant assistance given for the furtherance of better understanding and friendly relations among peoples of the world.

The University of Texas at San Antonio, College of Education and Human Development; UTSA Teacher Award for Outstanding Work with Preservice Teachers; Honorable Mention. This award had over 250 teachers and principals that were nominated from all over the state, only 12 teachers and 2 principals received an award.

The Boy Scouts of America, I am the former Committee Chairwoman for Troop 500 and I am an active committee member for the Troop. I have two Eagle Scouts of my own. I am a BSA Merit Badge counselor for Reading, Personal Management, Personal Fitness, and several other merit badges. I am also the Religious Emblems director and I am in charge of teaching the Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII Catholic Awards.

I love seeing my students participate in all their varied activities throughout the year. Sports, band, choir, orchestra, and other events that they tell me about, I see as many as possible. I have wonderful students and I give them my best. 

I am also the Academic UIL (University Interscholastic League) Coordinator for Wood Middle School. Our School is looking forward to placing in this year's academic competitions.
