Welcome to Wood Middle School! I am happy that you chose to attend Wood Middle School and I am looking forward to getting to know each one of you during the upcoming year. Wood is a great school, where teachers have your child’s best interest at heart. 

I have a Bachelor of Science degree and have been a science teacher for 29 years. I am certified to teach biology, Earth science, life science and physical education. I also have my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and I am certified to be a Principal EC-12. I have returned to coaching and this year I will be coaching volleyball, basketball, track and soccer! Go Wranglers! I have taught in Northside ISD, was the science curriculum specialist in San Marcos and have been in NEISD for 26 years, 25 years at Wood.

My father was in the military for 23 years, so I grew up as a military brat, moving to a new school every one to three years. So I understand the anxiety of a child coming to a new school.

I have been married for 36 years, and my wife is a teacher as well. My son and his wife are both teachers and my daughter works with special-needs children. We have 3 dogs, a parrot, a gecko and some dart frogs. I love spending time with my family most of all. I also like the Spurs, hunting, fishing, and I am a college football fanatic. My favorite games are Warhammer and Magic the Gathering.
