Welcome!!! :-) This is Mr. Chitta's fourteenth year teaching in the public schools and could not be more blessed to be back with the outstanding fine arts team at Wood Middle School! His classes include focusing on the beginning BRASS instruments (trumpet, french horn, trombone, baritone, tuba), and Symphonic Band.

Since completing his master's degree in music education at Texas State University in May 2021, Mr. Chitta has been on an exciting journey to spread awareness and educating others on teaching students with hearing loss in the music education settings. As a deaf and hard-of-hearing musician himself, he strives to inspire others on a daily basis with what he CAN do despite his hearing loss. His past presentations include the Cambridge University Press Accessibility Champions Virtual Talk, ALPSP (Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers) Virtual University Press Redux Conference, Colorado Music Educators Association Conference, and the Texas Music Educators Association Clinic & Conference. Mr. Chitta's professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, The Midwest Clinic, and Texas Bandmasters Association. 

In his free time, Mr. Chitta loves running, traveling, and reading books related to Disney history and hearing loss in music education.

In the 2024-2025 school year, Mr. Chitta will be presenting at the Texas Bandmasters Association Convention in San Antonio, the Florida Music Educators Association Professional Development Conference in Tampa, and the Texas Music Educators Association Convention in San Antonio.

He currently resides in San Antonio, Texas, with his wife and their three dogs.
