Welcome to Sixth Grade Math at Tejeda Middle School!

I grew up in Guam, North Carolina, Virginia and Pennsylvania before finally making it to Sugar Land, Texas in middle school. I graduated from the University of Houston and  have been teaching since 2000.  I have taught many different grade levels, from Pre-K to High School.  This will be my 4th year teaching 6th grade math (but my first year at Tejeda).  I was honored to be named the Teacher of the Year in 2021-2022 for a charter school district here in San Antonio.  

My family and I have lived in San Antonio for 8 years.  My husband and I have three boys, a freshman at Texas State University and twin sophomores at Reagan High School.  We also have two crazy dogs, Bravo and Molly.

My goal for all of my students is to increase their mathematical literacy while also increasing each student’s confidence!  I look forward to a great year full of mathematical growth!
