Mrs. Jillian Mason-Moreno

Hello Bears,

I’m Mrs. Mason-Moreno and I’m the new director of the dance program at Bradley Middle School! I believe the teaching and practice of dance creates an avenue to develop lifelong skills such as self-expression, creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. I strive to help my students grow their confidence, creative abilities, and gain an appreciation for dance as a form of art.

Biography

I began dancing at the age of three and have studied many different styles such as Jazz, Hip-hop, Ballet, Pointe, Contemporary, Tap, Modern and Broadway. As a studio dancer, I was on a competitive team for 10 years then I attended MacArthur High School where I was a member of the Brahmadora dance team. After high school, I was a dancer for SeaWorld San Antonio and cast to perform in multiple shows such as Splash Dance, Block Party, Sol Celebration and Sesame Street. In 2016 I graduated from Texas State with my BFA in Dance. During my time there, I was a member of Merge Touring Ensemble, which is a pre-professional dance company and got the opportunity to perform and work with choreographers from all around the world.

I've been teaching dance in public education for 6 years and for the last two years I was at Nimitz Middle School where I started their dance program. I'm thrilled to be back at Bradley, as a former bear it is my dream to bring dance back to my community!
