Class Information and Expectations    

Students are expected to arrive to class on time and give it their 100%. At the end of the year, students should be one step closer to becoming self-directed, critical learners who can work collaboratively with others to reach their maximum potential and, of course, master the ENG content portion of the STAAR test.

What students and their guardians can expect:

1. We will focus on listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
2. We will respond to texts and learn different writing styles and genres.
3. We will aspire to use English well in real-world situations and to reach our maximum potential.

How we can support your student:

1. When students are absent, remind them to make up missed work. I have a folder with assignments for them ready and will contact you and your student with work every two consecutive absences.  
2. Because students are already battling so many other distractions, I will ask that they put their cell phones away the first 35 minutes of class.I will provide a safe, labeled place to keep the phone within sight and a few steps from the student.
